Manaslu Region
Manaslu trekking region is undoubtedly a beautiful and pristine trekking circuit which will give you an opportunity to circle the beautiful Mt. Manaslu, the 8th highest peak in the world standing tall at an elevation of 8,152m. it is located in the west-central part of the country. We will visit through the untrampled trails of the remote Nepal in incredible vicinity with beautiful mountains in the backdrop, a sight you will have to see and experience to believe. Trekking in the Manaslu region is suitable for trekkers who want to visit the Himalayans from close proximity and away from the chaos of the modern world.
The trek along the ancient trial will help you experience the authentic Nepali culture and hospitality, grants you gratifying view of Mt. Manaslu and other toweing satellite peak. You will get the chance to trek through varied vegetation ranging from terraced farms to deciduous forests and alpine forests. The region is unscathed by the repercussions of the modernization and commercialization and the beauty and remoteness of the region is still pure and intact, thus a trek to the Manaslu region will seem like a time-travel experience. The region is dotted with teahouses and inns, and in some places, we will spend the night under camps and tents to elevate the experience even more. Amenities ranging from internet to phone chargers are widely available across inns and lodges.
The Manaslu region shares close proximity with neighbors Tibet, thus the culture and history is tied closely with Tibet. The predominant inhabitants of the region follow ancient Tibetan Buddhism and we can observe wonderful Buddhist monasteries, architecture, tradition and culture all along the way. The region was a restricted region up until because of its close geographical location with Tibet. As of now, trekkers will have to acquire a special pass from the department of Immigration to visit the region.
Manaslu region provides a wide assortment of trekking options to avid trekkers. Manaslu Lower Eco Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek, and Tsum Valley Trek are some of the popular trekking routes in the region. The beautiful Manaslu trekking route of 177 kilometers, skirts the beautiful Manaslu massif over the pass down towards Annapurna. Since the trekking trial follows an ancient salt-trading route to Tiber along the Budi Gandaki River, even today we can witness yak caravans heading to Tibet or descending south for trade. Along with the majestic Mt. Manaslu, the region houses other ten peaks above 6,500m, handful of 7,000m above peaks and other many peaks above 5,000m. The highest point one can reach during the trek lies at an elevation of 5,235m at Larkya La Pass from where we can have commendable views of the western and far western peaks of the Himalayan region.
