Cultural Tour

A special opportunity to learn about Nepal’s rich architectural and cultural legacy is provided by travel there. The capital of Nepal, Kathmandu, was established in the 10 century by King Rama Deva and is a medieval metropolis that straddles tradition and modernity. The valley still displays a vibrant culture that has remarkably endured to the present day. The valley is home to Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur, three magnificent cities with a wealth of historical and cultural significance. The valley is located at a height of 1350 meters above sea level and is surrounded by a range of green terrace hills with the Himalaya Range providing a beautiful backdrop. Within a 30 km radius, seven locations are listed as world heritage sites by UNESCO. Beyond the metropolitan environment of these three historic cities, there are a large number of lovely little towns and villages that offer a window into country life. We provide a variety of circuits around Kathmandu; on occasion, we’ll combine cultural exploration of this magnificent legacy with a brief, simple hike over terraced hills and lush rice terraces or with a Chitwan jungle safari.
