It is far less common for tourists to travel to this region of Nepal, which is close to the Langtang valley. Trekkers who want to get a taste of Nepal’s native cultures should check out the Tamang Heritage Trail. This allows you the chance to interact in person with the Tamang people’s warm, ancient Tibetan Buddhist culture. The Ganesh and Langtang mountain ranges are frequently seen from this trail as it travels through Tamang settlements. The trip begins with a daylong private automobile trip to Syebrubesi. This hamlet has developed into a commercial hub and serves as the beginning point for hikes to the Gosainkunda Lakes and Langtang Valley. Following the earthquake in April 2015, the route to Syabrubesi has taken precedence for travel and trade to Tibet. You must climb to Gholjong for two hours on your first day of trekking. You will receive fantastic views of the Ganesh mountain range as compensation for your climb. Gatlang can be reached by a short hike from Gholjong. The following day, you will go down to the Trisuli River via chortens and mani walls.
You can take a bath in one of the natural hot springs in the middle of the village of Tatopani, which means “hot water” in Nepali. The highest point of the Tamang Trail is reached after Tatopani by ascending a mountainous trail. At a height of 3165 meters, Nagthali Gyang is reached after a journey through the forest. You will climb to the traditional Tamang village of Thuman after taking in the mountain vistas. The Langtang region’s Thuman is a sizable community whose residents still follow their ancient Buddhist traditions. Ancient monasteries and customary wood-carved homes may be found in Thuman. Following Thuman, you will hike to Briddim, another traditional Tamang village, through a rhododendron forest and open meadows. You will hike along the river from Briddim to Syabrubesi.
