Trip Overview

It is a unique pleasure to go trekking in Upper Mustang. You may see and learn about the actual mountain lifestyle here. For hundreds of years, these people were mostly cut off from the rest of Nepal, even though they had a monarch until recently. Given that it is geographically a part of the Tibetan plateau, trekking in Upper Mustang is comparable to trekking in Tibet in many aspects. Within the borders of Nepal, the Mustang district was an independent monarchy until 1950. The Raja of Mustang, the last king, continues to reside in the former city-state of Lo Manthang.
Walking through the country of canyon panoramas is a highlight of our thrilling Upper Mustang Trekking. These encircle and rotate around the vast Kali Gandaki Valley. The Upper Mustang Trekking is not your typical walk in a secluded Nepali valley. From the Tibetan border in the north to Kagbeni in the south, the entire Upper Mustang region is home to a variety of unusual experiences for trekkers to satiate their eyes and souls. The trans-Himalayan climate (cool and semi-arid), the view of the Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and other magnificent ranges in the south, as well as the pristine medieval Buddhist arts, architecture, and exotic culture and tradition that date back to the 13th and 15th centuries, all contribute to the region’s allure. This is one among the top hiking destinations in due to a number of factors.
