The Karnali, the longest river in Nepal, originates in Tibet at the foot of Mount Kailash, which is considered the center of the world by both Buddhists and Hindus. It forms the main drainage system for the western districts as it flows south into Nepal. The Karnali is a legendary expedition into Nepal’s distant, “wild west,” and one of the best BIG volume river journeys in the whole world. Syauli serves as the starting place when the river plunges into massive gorges teeming with strong, big-volume white water. These valleys drain into sparsely inhabited regions of virgin jungle filled with fauna and many birds. As the Karnali exits the highlands and runs through the Gangetic plains in the Terai, the river gradient starts to flatten out at the conclusion of the journey.
The crew’s favorite expedition in Nepal is the Karnali River Rafting, which is regarded by many as a spectacular journey and one of the best rafting rivers in the world.
