Trip Overview

One of the most difficult peak expeditions in recorded history took place on Mt. Makalu. The fifth-highest mountain in the world, Mount Makalu, is 8463 meters high. It is situated right in the middle of Nepal’s eastern Himalayas, and recently, adventure expeditions have been heavily pushed there.
One of the hardest and most challenging mountains in the world to climb to the peak is Mt. Makalu. On May 15, 1955, Lionel Terray and Jean Couzy of a French team headed by Jean Franco made the first ascent from Fracne. The climbing team member must have a strong degree of dedication to the Mt. Makalu trip.
