The first cable car service in Nepal, Manakamana Cable Car, is located in Kurintar. On November 24, 1998, the then-Prince Dipendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev gave it his blessing. Since its installation, it has become extremely well-liked by both Nepalese citizens and foreign visitors. The cable car service that transports you to the venerated shrine of the goddess Manakamana has also promoted religious tourism in Nepal.
On the Kathmandu-Pokhara highway, the cable car station is located in Kurintar, which is about 104 kilometers west of Kathmandu. For providing lodging and dining services, particularly to tourists, there are quite a few excellent restaurants and resorts.The goddess is referred to as Manakamana and is believed to grant the wishes of her devotees; the temple is located 12 km south of the old town of Gorkha.
