I’d advise staying in Pokhara for at least two days because there are so many enjoyable things to do there.
Pokhara, the most well-liked tourist destination in Nepal, is renowned for its lakes and Himalayan mountains. Adventure sports including boating, trekking, rafting, canoeing, and bungee jumping are also popular in Pokhara.
If you intend to visit Pokhara, make sure to allot some time to discover the rest of this lovely city! In Nepal, Pokhara is a well-known tourist attraction. The area is a treasure trove of beautiful places to see and is unique in its own right. Pokhara offers a variety of intriguing locations, including lakes, trekking, and historical, cultural, and aesthetic sights.
The top activities to do in Pokhara when visiting Nepal are on this list.
Sarangkot, Pokhara, at dawn
As if charming Pokhara required a more attractive relative! Sarangkot is the icing on a delectable dessert. privileged access to some breathtaking mountain vistas. Sarangkot is always a few degrees colder than Pokhara at any given time.
A excellent location to see breathtaking sunrises, but don’t anticipate being the only one who gasps in awe. Tourists who are hoping to see the majestic Himalayas frequently visit this location.
There are just a few abandoned forts and some breathtaking views to be had here. You only need a few hours to do this location justice.
Riding a boat on Fewa Lake
Beautiful and spotless Lake Phewa. Getting a boat and exploring this breathtakingly gorgeous lake is the most enjoyable thing you can do. The Phewa Lake is surrounded by beautiful scenery, and as I went to Pokhara in the off-season, there weren’t many people there. It was primarily just my trip companion and I Popularly known as Lakeside or Baidam, the lake’s eastern shoreline is made up of an infinite stretch of hotels, eateries, bookstores, and gift shops. The magnificent view of the mountains from a lakeside location is one of its most captivating features, especially when the calm water creates a double image of the peaks.
Walking to the World Peace Pagoda: The pagoda, a large Buddhist stupa, is perched atop a hill on Fewa Lake’s southern edge. The World Peace Pagoda is perched 1100 meters above Pokhara on top of the Ananda hill. It is Nipponzan-seventy-first Myhji’s pagoda worldwide and the first World Peace Pagoda in Nepal.
The Himalayan range, Fewa Lake, and Pokhara city can all be seen from here.
Bindhyabasini Temple: The ancient bazaar’s religious hub is the Bindhyabasini Temple. Goddess Bindbyabasini, another another Hindu manifestation of shakti (Power), is honored by its dedication. Another incarnation of Shakti, the goddess Bhagwati, is honored at the Bindhyabasini Temple.
Near the Old Bazaar, on a hill, is where the temple is located. People who practice religion come here to make sacrifices, especially on Saturdays. A magnificent aerial picture of the city and mountains can be seen from the temple.
Mahendra Gupha is the enormous limestone cave, while Chameri Gupha is the cave. It is believed that shepherd boys found it about 1950. To observe the stalactites and stalagmites, which are a two-hour hike to the north of Pokhara, it is recommended to carry your own torch because the most of them have been removed by souvenir seekers.
Near Mahendra Gufa is Chamero Gupha, also known as Chamero Odhaar (“House of Bats”)
Davis Falls: Also known as Devin’s or David’s, this magnificent waterfall is located approximately 2 km south-west of the Pokhara airport on the road to Tansen, Butwal. It is also known as Patale Chhango, which translates to “Hell’s fall.”
In a fascinating modern tradition, a foreigner by the name of David is said to have been skinny-dipping in the Pardi Khola (river) when the floodgates of the dam opened, carrying him down a subterranean channel beneath the fall, never to be seen again. Since its discovery in 1961, Devi’s Falls have grown to be a well-liked tourist destination in Pokhara.
The descents through tunnels to Mahendra cave are the most magnificent section of the waterfall.
Experience paragliding in Pokhara
One of the most exciting and adventurous activities is paragliding. It is impossible to forget the thrill of flying above the planet while admiring the gorgeous Himalayas in the distance and the villages, monasteries, lakes, and forests below. Paragliding will allow you to realize your childhood dream of flying.
For many years, paragliding has been among the most well-liked sports in Pokhara. Since the city prides itself on being one of the top locations in the world for these flights, a professional tournament is also organized there every year.
Pokhara offers the ideal setting for both a thrilling and secure experience, with a great takeoff place like Sarangkot and breathtaking Himalayan vistas.
Attempt some cuisine from the area.
The second-largest city in Nepal is Pokhara. However, it has the atmosphere of a tiny city around Phewa Lake. The area near Phewa Lake is the place to be for visitors. You have a fantastic view of the snow-capped summits of the Himalayas from here (if the weather permits). Pokhara is a great starting point for multi-day treks, as well as a pleasant spot to return to after a trip for some downtime. Beautiful restaurants, pubs, spas, and coffee shops abound throughout the city. the ideal location to unwind and have a delectable dinner before or after a strenuous climb.
